I was born and raised in Kansas, but found my love for librarianship in Provo, Utah while I was obtaining my Bachelor's degree in English. I was overjoyed when I got a job at the Harold B. Lee Library, and I knew after working there for nearly two years that I wanted a future in a librarianship. Libraries have always played a big role in my life, and as someone who loves to read, who loves to write, and loves to help people, libraries couldn't be a better fit for someone like me.
With every MLS class that I have taken, every interview and every study I have made, it is obvious to me that libraries as we have known them are changing. I am excited to see these changes, and excited to take on the challenges that come with being a new librarian in an increasingly-technological world. With information readily available at the fingertips of anyone who has access to the internet, librarians must be the ones who know how to connect people with the information and resources that they need, librarians need to be filters of quality, and yet open to new ideas and information. I am excited to engage with people and their information needs, and thrilled to be a librarian in this ever-changing era of information!
This portfolio is only a glimpse of my journey in learning about librarianship, but if you would like to know more about me or get in contact with me, please email me! I would love to talk about libraries or career opportunities with you!
